The K5M air motors has substantially larger bore and stroke than any other competitive motors. This allows the K5M to generate 40% more starting torque than smaller motors bore on winches rated for the same line pull.
Frame II models uses a high torque large displacement radial piston air motor to provide performance on low CFM air supplies.
The Air Motor and Control Valve Chest has parts interchangeability with your current K5 winches.
RAM Air Power Series FRAME2 Special Features: Air Control Valve: Automatic closing and automatic locking. Dual scaling with an easy to maintain and inexpensive to replace poppet seal. Brakes: The brake linings are designed to help prevent glazing by using large segmented block linings, wich allow sand and dirt to drop out beteween the blocks. The automatic drum brake uses an internal spring to apply the brake. The large diameter brake release cylinder allows operation down to 40Psi. All Automatic Brake Cylinder parts are constructed from stainless steel and bronze. The Frame: A unique design concept to this series is two(2) massive side frames. All machining to the side frames occurs on one machine. Near perfect tolerances can be held. Three large precision stainless steel bars assure the side plates will not move. The joint with the side plate is greased and "O" ring sealed to insure against corrosion and provide easy disassembly. Drum Support Bearings: The Drum is supported by dual tapered roller bearings. These bearings provide line contact and absorbs any thrust loading. Roller bearing are vastly superior to ball bearings, wich offer point contact and will not tolerate thrust. The end of the drum away from the motor is supported by a spherical roller bearing. This will absorb any minor misalignment while providing the strenght of line contact. Drum Guards: Stainless Steel Drumguards are installed to cover and protect the spool preventing misalingments Domed K5 Air Motor: This motor has all the reliability of the tradilional K5 plus performs increasing heads.
